A Taste of Austria (12 Bottle Set)’,

Discover the unique flavors of these typical Austrian varietals with this sampler kit:

Set contains 4 bottles each of the following items:

- Gumpoldskirchner Tradition'17, Johanneshof Reinisch, (Austria, Thermenregion, white )

The protected slopes at the edge of the Thermal Region offer ideal conditions for the Rotgipfler and Zierfandler grape varieties. Johanneshof Reinisch nurtures the grand tradition of these regional specialities, retaining their typical elegance and power while using modern methods in keeping with our time. Only 130 ha of each variety exist on the planet.

Light yellow-green, elegantly spiced bouquet exhibits jasmin flowers, exotic fruit, mango, banana, vibrant yellow fruit and lemony nuances on the palate. A creamy, soft mouthfeel with solid structure.

- Grüner Veltliner Kammern'15, Hirsch, (Austria, Kamptal, White )

Pale green-yellow. Yellow apple backed by smoky and spicy nuances with pronounced minerals. Subtle and elegant with ripe tropical fruit such as mango and papaya. Very harmonious and persistent on the palate. Already offering tremendous drinking pleasure, but still possessing superb ageing potential.

- Blaufränkisch TRADITION'13, Weinhof Illa & Oscar Szemes, (Austria, Mittelburgenland, Red )

Dark, ripe cherry notes mingle with fruit of the forrest and a touch of roasted meat flavors. A feminine touch, toned down tannins and abundant acidy give this wine a vivid freshness that leaves you wanting more. Notice a touch of spice on the finish. Eminently suitable for a wide variety of food.
Blaufrankisch arrived in Austria at the end of the 10th century and is now Austria's second widely planted red wine varietal. It thrives in the deep, loamy soils of Mittelburgenland. Just as with Zweigelt, the key to high quality Blaufränkisch is yield limitation.
Illa Szemes owns vineyards in Horitschon, the "Pomerol" of Austria where the soil is heavy and the summers hot to ensure fully ripe grapes.
