The soil around the towns of San Marzano and Francavilla Fontana are mainly "Terra Rossa", a fine texture with calcerous underground and rich in iron oxide (hence the red color). Here we also find a hot and dry climate with a wide temperature range between night and day, which brings out an intense fruit character in the super-ripe grapes. No wonder this full bodied wine is so deep and dark and possesses an enormous cherry-fruit driven bouquet with complex nuances. Eight months aging in French and Caucasian oak supply extra elegance and breeding. Very powerful, very rewarding with a long and lasting finish.

red meat, pecorino cheese, gentle (medium spicy) Indian curries, tex -mex.
