This is a powerful Veltliner – as profound as the loamy soil from which it is sourced. A multilayered Veltliner with rich fruit aromas, flinty minerals, lots of grip, full-bodied and firmly knit, with a very long finish and remarkable ageing potential. Terroir in a glass.
The Lamm is whole bunch pressed and then fermented exclusively with natural yeasts at ambient temperatures. It is matured in stainless steel tanks and large oak casks and remains on the fine lees through April. The wine is bottled in July following harvest.
Medium green-yellow. A multi-layered nose exhibits tobacco, soft smoke, papaya, and mango. Elegant is style, concentrated and creamy in the mouth with flavours of juicy ripe yellow fruit followed by apricot and abundant minerals on the long finish. Tobacco notes may develop as it ages. A versatile food wine with good ageing potential.
Food recommendations:
A wonderful match for strongly flavored fish (e.g. carp, eel, tuna) or fish dishes with sauces, great with lobster, spicy pork and veal dishes as well as red meats such as beef and lamb, liver, game and game birds, spicy Asian and vegetarian dishes (even works well with tomatos), cheeses
