Stift Klosterneuburg hosts Imperial Couple
by Administrator |

Accompanied by Austrian President Fischer, prince Akishinomiya and Princess Kiko toured the 11th century monastery and cathedral with its priceless art treasures at Klosterneuburg last week. Then they reportedly enjoyed a wine tasting in the monastery’s cellars.
The Imperial Couple expressed great admiration for the architectural splendor of the 11th century cathedral and the adjacent Imperial Chambers of Charles VI's unfinished residence.
A cultural experience par excellence
The Romanesque monastery church, the Gothic cloister with its Chapel of St. Leopold, the world-famous Verdun Altar with its 51 magnificent enamel panels, the magnificent Imperial Chambers of Charles VI's unfinished residence, the monastery museum's many precious exhibits—Klosterneuburg Monastery is one of Austria's most rewarding attractions for culturally minded tourists.

Estate Wines Japan offers
five delicious wines from Stift Klosterneuburg, with 900 vintages perhaps the world’s longest operating winery.
